Rules, Policies & Etiquette

We want everyone to have a fun, safe, and enjoyable experience at FunCity Sk8. Please take a moment to review our rules, policies, and skating etiquette before entering the rink. By entering the facility, guests agree to follow all posted guidelines and instructions from FunCity Sk8 staff.

RULES

Skating Direction

All skaters must follow the designated skating direction at all times. (The skating direction is counterclockwise unless otherwise said.)

No Stopping on the Skate Floor

For everyone’s safety, stopping on the skating floor is not permitted. If you need to take a break, please exit off the rink floor.

No Food or Personal Items on the Skate Floor

Food, drinks, candy, toys, trash, bags, purses, backpacks, and other personal belongings are not permitted on the skating floor.

No Gum

We are a NO GUM facility. Gum is not permitted anywhere inside the building.

No Carrying Children While Skating

For the safety of both the child and the skater, carrying children while wearing skates is not permitted.

No Horseplay

Horseplay or unsafe activities are not permitted on the skating floor. This includes games such as tag, chasing, or any other activity that could cause injury to yourself or others.

Approved Skates Only

Only quad roller-skates and inline skates are permitted. Heelys, skateboards, and other types of wheeled footwear or skating equipment are not allowed.

No Outside Sk8 M8s

PVC walkers or any type of skating walkers, or as we call “Sk8 Mate’s” may not be brought into the facility from outside.

Chain Links & Soul Trains

For the safety of all skaters, chain links, soul trains, and similar skating formations are limited to a maximum of 3 people.

POLICIES

Outside Food & Beverages

Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside FunCity Sk8.

Birthday Party Exception: Cake is permitted for guests who have a birthday party booked with FunCity Sk8.

Zero-Tolerance Alcohol Policy

Outside alcohol is strictly prohibited. Bringing outside alcohol into the facility is a zero-tolerance violation.

Guests found bringing outside alcohol into FunCity Sk8 may forfeit their admission and be required to leave the facility. Depending on the circumstances, the entire group may also be subject to removal.

Adult Waiver Requirement

All adults age 18 and older must complete a FunCity Sk8 Adult Waiver before entering the building, whether they are skating or not.

Adult waivers are valid for the calendar year in which they are completed.

Unaccompanied Minor Admission

All unaccompanied minors 17 years of age and under must pay admission to enter the facility, regardless of whether they intend to skate.

Payment Methods

FunCity Sk8 does not accept Cash App cards or Cash App payments.

SKATING ETIQUETTE

Know Your Lane

Please be aware of your surroundings and skate appropriately for the lane you are using.

  • Outside lane = Fast Lane
  • Inside lane = Slow Lane

Please avoid unnecessarily blocking faster skaters and be considerate of those skating around you.

Beginner Skate Area

The area behind the red line near the DJ booth is designated as our Beginner Skate Area. (This is the only area parents may walk on the skate floor if helping skaters)

This area is intended for guests who are learning to skate or are still becoming comfortable on their skates. Please be respectful of beginner skaters and avoid excessive speed or horseplay in this area.

Jam Skate Area

The area inside the yellow circle in the center of the skating floor is designated as our Jam Skate Area.

Guests who are not participating in jam skating should remain outside the yellow circle. Please do not cross into the designated jam skate area.

Share the Floor

Please be aware of the skaters around you and skate at a speed and level appropriate for the conditions of the rink. Give other skaters adequate space, especially when passing or changing direction.

Remember: We’re all here to have fun—let’s look out for one another!

STAFF ENFORCEMENT

For the safety and enjoyment of everyone at FunCity Sk8, management and staff reserve the right to enforce these rules and policies at their discretion.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in a warning, removal from the skating floor, loss of skating privileges, removal from the facility, or forfeiture of admission without refund, depending on the nature and severity of the violation.

Please follow all directions given by FunCity Sk8 staff.
