We can’t wait to hit the rink in our favorite Halloween costumes for awesome Funcity Sk8 events like Fright Night and the Princess Costume Contest. But October is about more than fun costumes and spooky skating. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, an annual campaign to educate people about a disease that affects 1 in 8 women. Help us spread the word and skate for the cure during Pink the Rink at Funcity Sk8 and Play.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Every October we support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a program dedicated to educating victims, survivors, and supporters about the threat of breast cancer. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. There is no known cure to the disease, but early detection significantly increases the likelihood of beating breast cancer. By supporting the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign we can provide inspiration, education, and support to women affected by this disease.
Pink the Rink
Every October thousands of businesses and private donors will raise awareness by participating in fundraisers, “race for the cure” events, and volunteer programs. We’re doing our part with Pink the Rink, an exclusive skating event for Breast Cancer Awareness month. We invite members of the Webster community to don their favorite pink shirts and skate for a cure at Pink the Rink this October. We will donate $1 to breast cancer awareness charities on behalf of anyone who wears pink to the rink Friday, October 10th-Sunday, October 12th.
Want to know how you can support breast cancer awareness? If Pink the Rink seems like a great start, call Funcity Sk8 and Play about booking a “skate for the cure” fundraiser for breast cancer awareness this October.
